Cookie Swap

We had our 2nd annual cookie swap this past week! So much fun! I made Christmas Tree Pops with red velvet cake and cream cheese icing. I had enough left over to take to the kids in Sully's class for snack time on Friday also!

This was how Sutton was sleeping last Thursday when I had to go wake him up from his nap because he was sleeping so long! Now that must have been some good sleep!! LOL!
Sully and I made some salt dough ornaments, we haven't painted them yet, but when we get the finished products, I will post a picture of them! It's kind of hard to get paints out with Sutton around!

Let it Snow!

We actually got snow the other day! I took the boys out that morning before Sully went to school so that they could play in it. Sully's idea of a snow angel is a little backwards! LOL! Sutton would have stayed in it all day if I would only carry him around! They don't get snow often enough! I hope we get enough to build a snowman one of these days!

The Polar Express

We went to the Polar Express ride in Lubbock on Wednesday night. The kids totally loved it! I was surprised at how much Sutton loved it! I knew Sully would, but I didn't have any clue that Sutton would enjoy it so much, so it was totally worth it! The only thing was that we were so close together, I didn't get the pictures that I would have liked to! They danced so much they wore themselves out!! We had two crashed out little boys all the way home!

Turkey Pops

OK, so here are the turkey pops I made for Sully's class's Thanksgiving Feast. I was a little taken back at how time consuming they were! And they didn't come out as perfect as they were in my head! haha! They never are! But I learned a lot, and I think next time I make them, they will be better! The kids didn't mind it at all though, they were super excited over them, and what more can you ask for?
OK, so I mentioned on facebook that I'm always forgetting to look in Sully's pockets before I do his laundry and I end up with rocks and acorns and corn kernels and pecans etc in my washing machine. A friend of mine told me to cherish this because one day I would miss it, so I really took that to heart! I decided that I would proudly display a jar of the precious memories! There is a story behind each item I find in his pockets and they make me smile! So, I now have a large mason jar (hopefully the first of many) that I have sitting above the cabinet in my utility room. It's not full yet, but it holds the acorns he picks up on the playground of his Pre-K year, the red rubber fish of the first fishing pole he had that Julie bought him in the mountains, the rocks that he picks up and gives to me because they are pretty and have some color remotely close to red and he knows that I like red, the pecans he picks up at our church every Sunday and Wednesday that we love so dearly, some "circle money" that he so generously shares with anyone, and hopefully, I will add many more precious memories to that jar! So thank you Cynthia for making me stop for a second and appreciate, truly, the sweet sweet little moments in his life! Now, I'm excited to look in his pockets before I put them in the wash, instead of "put out" when I open the machine and find rocks in the bottom! What a gift!! Here is my special jar!!

The Greatest Teacher Ever!!

WE LOVE MRS SANDUSKY!!

What other teacher would dress up like a pilgrim and have a Thanksgiving Feast for the kids?? AND let Sutton join in on the festivities! No wonder Sully LOVES school so much! And yes he is crying in this picture, but he was just worried that I was leaving when I stepped away to take a picture. He does get pretty sensitive when I go up there, but he always wants to go to school and has the best time! The boys were indians and the girls were pilgrims. Sully was "Wild Horse". (fitting)

You can see the wonderful spread! I made turkey pops for the kids, you can see those on the table, more on that later!

AHH, the perks of having a Nana with a gift store! The boys are always coming home with something extra-special! I had no idea they would love these water bottle holders this much, but even Sutton likes to wear his around! Sully's is a penguin, and he picked out a monkey for Sutton because "he knew Sutton likes monkeys so much".

This and That

These are some old pictures I had taken with my phone. I finally got them off. I love the one of Sutton in the chair! Hillarious! I always know Sully is EXHAUSTED when he will fall asleep in the car! Sutton is finally big enough and stable enough to ride the little carousel at KMart! He loves it! And I just have the urge to take Sutton, highchair and all and hose them down every time he feeds himself!

Merry Christmas to Us!

I'm so excited about our Christmas gift! Mom and Dad gave it to us early! It is soooo nice to park "inside"! You take things for granted like having your windshield clear in the mornings! Dan is in the process of putting a metal roof on the house, and he is going to do a deck out of our back door also. He plans on covering it from our carport to our back door, so we will actually be covered completely from door to car! It's like having a real garage out here! Yeah!! I know it sounds silly, but it is so nice to have this after 2 years!

Dads and Lads

Sully went on his first camping trip at Halloween. The church does Dads and Lads every year, this year it was too cold for them to go outside, so they camped in the Warehouse and went fishing the next day. Dan took this picture with his phone and sent it to me that night. Snug as a bug!

Late Halloween Photos

Sully said he wanted to be an astronaut for Halloween this year a little late, so he settled for being the sheriff and a blackbird in Highland's Carnival play. However, he loves to dress up so much, that we decided to get him the astronaut costume late. Nana gave him the cool "official" helmet and gloves! So now we live with another alter-ego, "Commander" (as it says on his costume).

Here are a few pictures of the boys in the Halloween goodies that Julie sent them.

Here are a couple of their trick or treat costumes. Sully was the sheriff, and Sutton was a monkey. Ray had a mask that Sutton was just not too sure about, but Sully just wanted to wear it! They had fun and came home with huge bags of candy from the few houses we went to! Then we headed out to the carnival and played games, ate and watched Sully's school play. We had a great time! Best Halloween yet!!

Pumpkin Patch

Sorry for the huge picture of myself in the middle! I had to do a photo montage of myself for my class I'm taking at TSTC, so since I had done the work, I thought I'd go ahead and use it on my blog so that I could share our little trip to the pumpkins in Abilene! We went to the Disability Resource Center and got some pretty good pictures! Sully took the one of me in the middle!
